Lilias Trotter

Lilias TrotterISABELLA LILIAS TROTTER (1853-1928) was born into a privileged family during the heart of the Victorian era in England. John Ruskin didn't believe that ladies could paint, until he met her, and immediately changed his mind. According to Ruskin she could have been the biggest name painter of the nineteenth century. Trotter decided that God would come before art, and gave her life completely to Him. Eventually she became a missionary to Algeria.
